According to reports, floods in Chile killed 12 people and left 20 missing.
Floods in Chile killed 12 people and left 20 missing, La Segunda web portal said Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Chilean government said the death toll rose to 10.

The flood caused by torrential rains resulted in civilian casualties in three regions of the country: Atacama, Coquimbo and Antofagasta.

Over 5,500 people had to take refuge in shelters and property of more than 4,600 inhabitants was damaged due to the floods, Interior Minister Rodrigo Pinarello was quoted as saying by La Segunda.

The torrential rains in Chile that began on Tuesday on the normally dry desert regions of Chile have been the heaviest in 80 years.
