Armed attack committed on police station in Istanbul
Unknown persons have attacked a police station in Turkey
Reportedly, the police returned fire on the criminals, after which they fled the scene.
It is the second incident in Istanbul today.

Earlier, an unknown armed person broke into the building of the Istanbul branch of the country’s ruling Justice and Development Party in the city’s Kartal district on Apr.1. The gendarmerie forces managed to neutralize the attacker.

This incident took place one day after armed persons took the prosecutor hostage in the Palace of Justice in Istanbul. They demanded the arrest of the police officers responsible for the death of 15-year-old Berkin Elvan during the street protests in 2013.

Prosecutor Selim Kiraz, who was taken hostage, was wounded by five bullets during special operation to free him and later died in a hospital.

Two terrorists were killed during the special operation.
