Ali Hasanov: Iran may deliver its gas to western countries via TANAP
This was stated by Ali Hasanov, Assistant to the Azerbaijani President for Public and Political Affairs, during the 18th Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul, AzVision.az reported citing aljazeera.com.tr.
Ali Hasanov said the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) is the most important energy project being implemented in the world.

"TANAP is of extreme importance as it will deliver Azerbaijani gas, its only alternative energy source, to energy markets of Europe and the world. During the course of a minimum of 60-70 years, up to 30 billion cubic meters of gas will be delivered to European consumers via this pipeline. This is why TANAP is an immense energy project. At the same time, the sanctions imposed by European countries and the United States on our neighbor, Iran, will be lifted. We believe Iran might also deliver its rich natural gas resources to western countries via TANAP in future. In the medium term, Turkmen gas`s delivery to Europe through TANAP may be possible, too," said Ali Hasanov.

Ali Hasanov also spoke about the agreement reached between the six powers and Tehran, noting that such an agreement will have a positive effect on the region.

"Iran is one of the three most important countries that define the geo strategy, geo policy and geo economy of the Caucasus and the Black Sea Basin. We would like these states to have good relations with our western partners. Because the situation sometimes used to make us face the dilemma of choosing Europe, the United States or Iran, or Turkey, Russia or Iran. Good relations would have a positive impact on our relations in terms of natural gas or other energy sources," he said.
