Azerbaijani peacekeepers leave for Afghanistan
Another military contingent of Azerbaijani peacekeepers has left for Afghanistan, said the message of the press service of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan on Apr.15.
A group of 35 Azerbaijani soldiers, who are serving under the NATO-led “Resolute Support” noncombatant mission launched in Afghanistan from January 2015, has left for Afghanistan on a rotating basis, the message said.

The peacekeeping contingent of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces has been serving under the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan since November 20, 2002.

Currently, 90 Azerbaijani servicemen, 2 medical officers and 2 engineers are participating in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
