The opportunities for strengthening the economic development and investment potential of the Trans-Caspian region, the large-scale projects implemented in the region and future cooperation prospectives, as well as, fostering the relations business relations between the US and participating countries and the possibility of new partnerships opportunities with US companies have been discussed at the forum jointly organized by the Caspian Policy Center, US Chamber of Commerce, embassies of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan in this country.
Speaking at the forum, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov pointed out that Azerbaijan is a leading country in the region and the energy and transport projects that have been implemented so far through the far-sighted policy of the country's leadership, particularly the Southern Gas Corridor, one of the largest infrastructure projects in the world, has made an invaluable contribution to the region's sustainable development and economic growth. Talking about the structural reforms in Azerbaijan for the diversification of the economy, including the development of non-oil sector and business environment, Mammadyarov invited business structures to take advantage of existing opportunities in our country.
Stressing that contuning occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding districts of Azerbaijan as a result of Armenia's aggressive policy, the minister said that this fact threatens regional security and stability and prevents the full-scale regional cooperation.
