U.S. Ambassador: "The co-chairs are trying to arrange a meeting of the presidents"
U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta, during his visit to Azerbaijan’s western region, has visited a settlement where internally displaced persons from Kalbajar live in.

The Ambassador first met with Head of Kalbajar Executive Power Agil Mammadov.

Then the visitors visited a kindergarten where children of internally displaced persons are brought up.

According to the Ambassador, it became clear from the conversation with IDP families from Kalbajar that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is not an abstract conflict. The conflict has humanitarian aspects that are consequences. We witnessed it during the conversation. Although the Nagorno-Karabakh problem is called a frozen conflict, in fact, the case is different. Every day, the facts of losses are recorded on the line of contact”, said the diplomat.

The Ambassador said that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs constantly keep in touch with Foreign Affairs Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan: “They are trying to arrange a meeting of the presidents. The main goal is to bring the parties together and achieve progress towards a peaceful solution to the conflict.”
