Erdogan said that the decision of the European Parliament about the 1915 events is unacceptable for Turkey.
Erdogan went on to add that Turkey has no problems with the Armenian people.
During the 1915 events, the Turks suffered more than the Armenians, said Erdogan.
The European Parliament urged Turkey to open the archives to investigate the 1915 events Apr.15.
Earlier, Turkish authorities, including the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly said that Ankara is ready to open the archives to investigate the 1915 events. Moreover, Turkish authorities put forward the same proposal to Armenia as well. However, Armenian authorities continue to ignore this proposal.
Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey`s predecessor, the Ottoman Empire allegedly carried out ”genocide” against the Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Turkey in turn has always denied "the genocide" took place. While strengthening the efforts to promote the "genocide" in the world, Armenians have achieved its recognition by the parliaments of some countries.
