US` new anti-Iran sanctions not to apply to Southern Gas Corridor project

US` new anti-Iran sanctions not to apply to Southern Gas Corridor project

The Southern Gas Corridor project, which is designed to deliver gas from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz field to Europe via Turkey, has been included in the list of exceptions as new anti-Iran sanctions will be announced in the coming days, according to the US Federal Register.

The resumed anti-Iran sanctions will not apply to those involved in implementing projects aimed at developing natural gas and building and operating a pipeline for transporting natural gas from Azerbaijan to Turkey and Europe.
