Emir of Qatar to celebrate anniversary of Battle of Canakkale in Turkey
Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will visit Turkey to participate in the festivities on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Canakkale, Anadolu agency reported April 21.
A total of 21 presidents will take part in the festive processions, to be held in Turkey, the agency reported.

Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey`s predecessor, the Ottoman Empire allegedly carried out ”genocide” against the Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Turkey in turn has always denied "the genocide" took place. While strengthening the efforts to promote the "genocide" in the world, Armenians have achieved its recognition by the parliaments of some countries.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan invited his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan to take part on April 24 in the festivities in honor of the 100th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Canakkale. Turkish president said that this could lead to the start of the dialogue between the two sides. However, Armenian authorities refused to participate.
