Lavrov noted that it is easy to explain this position. "They do not want to admit that the IS has emerged as a result of their actions in Iraq," he said, reminding that Al-Qaeda is also the result of the US actions.
Russian Foreign Minister called Islamic State Russia’s greatest enemy today. "I believe that the Islamic State is our main enemy today. That’s just because hundreds of Russians, the citizens of the CIS countries, Europeans and Americans are fighting as part of it," Lavrov said.
"They fight there and then come back and do harm at their place. Just two or three people are enough for that," he said.
