European Olympic Committees requires not to interfere in Azerbaijan
The European Olympic Committees has flatly rejected the appeal of the Coalition for Human Rights to raise the human rights issue before Azerbaijani government.
The European Olympic Committee said in its statement that it has no information about the so-called deplorable situation in human rights in Azerbaijan as reported by some western media outlets and organizations and will not discuss this issue with Baku.

EOC said it has no authority to interfere in the legal and political processes in a sovereign state.

EOC added that like all other sports organizations, it should operate under the conditions of the existing political system of the country.

The organization added that Azerbaijani government has guaranteed to ensure the free activity of all media representatives accredited to the First European Games.
